I was raised to believe…
I was raised to believe all creatures are interconnected, all faiths are united and the greatest of faith, hope and love is Love. My father, Gil Galloway, was a Methodist Missionary to India whose roommate was the non-violent advocate Rev James Lawson Jr. My mother Janet Cooper was a Medical Missionary from England to India. My father spent his career at the Board of Global Ministries which we called the "God Box". I grew up with the Civil Rights Movement and the Women's Rights Movement and an open Christian theology. A faith where historic truths in the Bible show how humans have struggled for equality and learnt to live in a loving, accepting community. I appreciate Process Theology and many faiths, especially Judaism, as I try to live with spiritual discernment and my racial privilege as an older adult.
